What can we do to make our world better
Many Residents of our planet don't wear shoes, some because they don't need them & some because they don't have them.
They all need our help, the ones that need, by how we contribute, the ones that don't by how we obstain.
They all need our help, the ones that need, by how we contribute, the ones that don't by how we obstain.
TIGERThere are varying reports about Tigers in the world, some populations are on the rise (from severely fallen past numbers) and some are on extreme decline. The fact remains that tigers are still today exploited for reasons not relating to our human needs. Especially on an ever growing black market for their beautiful skins and body parts for unscientifically proven health benefits. |
Leatherback sea turtleIn 1982 there were around 115,000 adult female Leatherback turtles in the world; just 14 years later, there were approximately 20,000 to 30,000-and the population has continued to plummet. The Leatherback's problems include theft of it's eggs by humans, illegal hunting, nesting habitat loss due to beach development and the erosion of beaches, possibly, in part, due to global climate change. In addition, Leatherbacks sometimes die after ingesting plastic debris they find floating in the ocean, which they mistake for food such as jellyfish. |
MankINDUpwards of 50% of the Human species' range has come under the threat of near term extinction (within the next 50 years) due to non-tempered development, severe resource allocations misdirected, air/water pollution, ecosystem degradation, energy scarcity, climate change, potential nuclear war and a variety of inter-related factors.

We are not the first to write these words, we only continue to say what others already have.
OUR GOALWe, inhabitants of our planet, are wasteful. Let's change that. |
First Let'sDiscover
Let's begin to look at our world with open eyes, not with blinders that direct us to our own selfish needs. Sure, species of the world acting on instinct, exploit other species, but they seem to maintain an instinct of balance. We are definitely the top of the food chain and have been blessed with the highest reason and thought capabilities.
|
Now let's WORKConserve
Let's be mindful of our own personal needs, not assuming that we need something just because it may be popular. Think, " do I really need this item, packaged this way" or " what is my condensed list of the things I need to experience a good basic life". And when I do have to discard something, where is it's final destination, who or what will it affect (positive or negative).
|
IT'S UP TO USChange
We believe true change does not come from an institution or a group, but from one individual at a time. One person doing the right thing for the right reason. How do i monitor myself ? I use one very simple rule, put myself in the receiving person, place or thing, how would I want to be treated. And of course it only works when I am truly honest.
